Note to self, Do not trust Seagate drives
HDD decided to die on me. It’s a 3TB drive and reporting as a 4.1GB drive.
All my life worth of projects(past/ongoing/soon-to-do), collected tools, created scripts, vita modding stuff, vita homebrews, whole 250GB downloaded steam library, recorded gameplay, Nand backups, work stuff.
All gone.
Dunno if I can start modding again or just retire in this stuff entirely as this is quite depressing and really demotivates me to do anything else.
One of my regrets is that I never manage to upload the Spanish fix for Catherine:FB on vita since it’s finished and just finalizing the readme and patcher.
Shit, sorry to hear froid. Have you thought about taking your HDD to a recovery shop?
I’ve been through the same thing, with a RAID (4x6TB), so I feel your pain.
Hope to see your work again, and best of luck
This is really sucks rather than Seagate kingstone is better or use sad instead hd hope u won’t stop modding PS Vita game
I know your feeling, as I’ve lost months, if not years, of work (game dev. projects) twice…
As MXSCR said, take some months off but don’t give up, you’ll get better eventually.
I know it’s really sad to just lose all those works that you have worked for so much. Take a break and return back to our community. We really need you.
i still remember those 3tb drives got a few of them dead already and my 2tb and 4tb drives are still alive and kicking and another one of those life savers is app hdd sentinel it always shows my hdd problems whenever there is signs of problem arrising so i never got any problems after using hdd sentinel got to backup and transfer my files before anything happens twice already 🙂
as someone who’ve lost huge chunks of files (twice) from two (coincidentally the same) seagate (laptop) hdd(s), I know how you feel. And yet as of this moment, the only convenient way for me to backup my files is to use these (laptop) hdd(s) as I don’t believe it’s save to upload files to (any) file sharing sites since nowadays these sites has the ability to modify(remove/delete) my files if they so choose.
Again, sorry to hear about it man, I atleast hope that something good came up the week after that happened.
I’m shocked to read this froid_san… In the past I asked you for the tools for Valkyrie Drive Bikkhuni, I do still have the tools if you want them… just in case. I always prefer to split my files between 5 HDD (1TB each one) because the pain is less than losing the 5TB within one drive… that’s my advice.
