Catherine: Full Body [JP] [English mod patcher v0.80] + 960×544 resolution patch [Vita]
This is an old post regarding the BETA translation patch of Catherine: Full Body, there is now a Full translation port patch of this game in this project page.
Here’s an English port of Catherine:Full Body since Atlus decided not to localize it to the Vita then to rub more salt in our wounds decided to make a poll and include this game to one of the possible games to be ported to the switch. Oh yeah, Before I start and probably wondering how is this possible. I don’t have any secret hacks or exploits for the PS4 to get the English assets. This is just good old-fashioned transcribing text from numerous videos on YouTube and my own gameplay. So, most of the untranslated text you may see are text that I have not encounter during my numerous playthrough.
Since there’s a bit progress on the PS4 scene about backporting and decrypting higher firmware games. I decided to wait for that process to mature, be public and have more comprehensive guide before completing this port and save myself from manually typing what I see on the screen. The port is mostly playable, probably 70% and if you play just the story and ignoring random dialogs of the NPC’s you’ll mostly see English text and get all the 13 endings and since today is the anniversary of the release date of this game for the vita here’s the playable BETA English port for everyone to enjoy.

What’s translated:
○ All Images that contain text used in menu’s and such
○ Regular Menu/Navigation Text
○ 99% of the Cut-scene and FMV
○ 90% of the cellphone messages
○ 80% of the NPC on the Lounge and Landings (nightmare)
○ All Confessional Questions
○ 70% Quotes on loading screen
What’s NOT translated:
○ Most of the Multiplayer mode (PS4 version needs PS+ so can’t see the text there)
○ Arrow labels
Known bugs:
Some text that on cellphone and confessional may have cuts
Maybe some typo’s (since again it’s a manual port and English is not my native language)

Requirements:
○ Hacked Vita (Enso/h-encore 3.60/3.65/3.68/3.73)
○ Repatch plugin (installed on the Vita and verified working)
○ NoNpDrm plugin (installed on the Vita and verified working)
○ Vitashell
○ FTP program (Winscp recommended)
○ This English patch

How to patch (Windows):
01. Install the Game on your Vita or insert cart and also install the game update v1.03
02. Test the game if it working fine.
03. Extract English patch archive to a folder. ex: “C_FB_v0.80_BETA_patcher”
04. Using Vitashell browse gro0:app/ (if cart) or ux0:app/ (if a PSN game)
05. Highlight the PCSG01179 folder and press Triangle -> then select Open decrypted
06. Press Select and connect Via FTP
07. Using your favorite FTP application on the PC, browse gro0:app/ (if cart)
or ux0:app/ (if a PSN game)
08. Copy PCSG01179 folder to the PC (C_FB_v0.80_BETA_patcher) folder and rename it to PCSG01179_base
09. Browse ux0:patch/ on your Vita again using Vitashell.
10. Highlight PCSG01179 folder and press Triangle -> then select Open decrypted
11. Again on FTP application on the PC, browse ux0:patch/
12. Copy PCSG01179 folder to the PC (C_FB_v0.80_BETA_patcher) folder and rename it to PCSG01179_update
13. Run patch_decrypted.bat, follow its instruction and wait for it to finish patching
14. Copy the contents of inside Copy_to_VITA_ux0 folder to your Vita’s ux0 folder & overwrite all
15. Play the game.
How to install:
1. Copy the contents of inside Copy_to_VITA_ux0 folder to your Vita’s ux0 folder, be sure to have NoNpDrm and rePatch plugin (v3.0) properly installed and working.
2. Run the game.
Additional Notes:
○ You need to have a overclock plug-in if you used the English mod with 960×544 resolution patch.
○ If there are major bug’s and you want it to be fixed, contact me and send a screenshot of it or the text before or after the text bug.

I think the problem with zanki zero is the files structure of the PC version greatly differs from the Vita and the pc version is also encrypted.

Yeah, and maybe a dub and multi language patcher,
Any ETA? Are you actively doing the translation right now or is it frozen until PS4 scene matures like you said in your port? (Asking if we might see the translation in couple of months or a years or two time?)
Manually doing this port in this games state took me a month and a half, so maybe a couple of months if the Ps4 files are decrypted. Though on a break now on hacking and need to finish my work related project.

Waste of time. Why bringing something infinitely inferior?
It’s about giving Users options and freedom to choose with regards to their preferences on how they want to experience in the game, than which one is superior.
As there will be an option to choose between just Japanese only, dub only or dual audio.
Hello froid_san, first of all thank you for your hard work in all of these projects.
I’m facing an issue with the patching. After the complete process, the game still runs in Japanese. The patch_decryption does its job successfully and shows that all files are correct in the Copy_to_VITA_ux0 folder.
NoNpDrm and Repatch have been tested to be working before. The only thing that was different from the steps was that there was nothing to overwrite in the rePatch folder in the first place. Was something supposed to be there? I didn’t have anything.
So the MD5 hash successfully verified the files?
Make sure you the game update is also properly installed.
Make sure you copy the rePatch folder that you can find inside the Copy_to_VITA_ux0 to the ux0 for your vita storage.
You can also try verifying the the files you just copy to the vita does not get corrupted during transfer.
so you have any other games that uses repatch and they are working or this is the only game for now that uses repatch?.

Why Do I Get This Error ?
It’s either the file you dump from the vita is not decrypted as in step 5 and step 10
or… some files got corrupted during FTP transfer. If you are using FileZilla, try using WinSCP instead. I experienced a lot of file corruption during ftp transfer using FileZilla.
Also getting checksum mismatching and I’ve tried multiple times now. Not sure where Varun got his copy from, mine is from nopaystation, tested before trying to patch should be working fine. Tried transfering with filezilla, WinSCP and over USB none are working it still returns the same error. Even when I delete the game back off the vita and move the copied file back it still works so I’m not sure if there’s any corruption or if I’m just doing something wrong in the process?

Mismatch error from xdelta is caused by the source file being wrong and not what the patcher expected. I may be due to the source file is still encrypted or corrupted.
Be sure to open decrypted via vitashell before dumping via FTP as indicated with step 5 and 10.

you can also check if your dump is decryted if you can view the png files located on PCSG01179_base\sce_sys\ after copying and renaming it on the PC.
Great advice Froid-san! I wasn’t double checking to make sure my files were actually decrypted. Ashamed to say I never actually knew the difference. Knowing about being able to see the png files as a check was great for knowing what to look for. I just wasn’t highlighting the folder when I was trying to decrypt it ^.^;… I thought by being over it was good enough, didn’t understand I needed to square to mark before opening and transfering in filezilla. I appreciate your help and thank you again for the patch! I really look forward to playing it!

Can i just plug the PSvita directly through the usb cable to transfer the files? FPT just takes way too long

when i download the v 0.80 link the files inside the rar are labeled .70 instead .80 beta, is this correct?
Yes, its a typo since the patcher was 1st made when its still on v0.70, forgot to rename the file name of the hash files when I updated it. It’s fixed now.

Hey! Thanks for this. For me Its not working so great. The resolution patch is working but for some reason most of the text is still in Japanese (Menus & Game subtitles) with some text settings description being in English with many _ instead of spaces. I went through the patch steps and the MD5 hash successfully verified all the files. What could be the problem here? Thanks!
Menu still being japanese means corrupted/missing located on eboot.bin on ux0:rePatch/PCSG01179/eboot.bin or game update not installed
_ spaces means corrupted/missing base.cpk located on ux0:rePatch/PCSG01179/data/base.cpk or game update not installed
be sure you’ve installed the game update 1.03 and check if the files you’ve copied is not corrupted.
Will probably complete the game with this beautifull translation 🙂

It was a test mod just to hide the fact I was posting a translation port for Catherine FB when I uploaded the video on YouTube. so I disguise it as a model swap mod hehe…
Seeing as some users want that mod I may add add option on the final release.
Im really sorry for mentioning that its just that I thought that it is included in the beta patch , I dont really mind about her appearance in the game tho. Welp thanks so much for this, I wasted 40 bucks on the ps4 version

Its fine, if you don’t notice any hiccup in performance.
So….I copy the game and the patch to the folder and rename both then run bat file press 1 and it write some lines and closed,then I cut base and update from the names and copy & replace both to folders in vita but noting happened…still Japanese

It probably wnet wrong when you copy the game directly and did not decrypt the game 1st as instructed on step 5 before copying to the PC via FTP so it gets decrypted.
As the per instruction there should be Copy_to_VITA_ux0 folder generated and the contents of that folder (rePatch) is the one you copy to the ux0 of your vita.

I did it with usb cable again and before copying(1st time)pressed open decrypted and again was like first time,not generate copy to vita folder
Yes, “Open decrypted” option does not work via USB and only works via FTP. Alternatively if you want faster transfer speed via USB and use PSVPFSTOOLS on your PC. But you need to know how to use command prompt and follow that long guide.

Just fine to just update the game, the one that is dangerous is the firmware or system update.
But as long as your vita is properly spoofed to the current firmware (3.73) you are also safe from firmware/system update notifications.
